Nothing can be so special than being healthy again after almost three weeks suffering from a no ending-fever that make me weak, spending my whole boring day for few weekends while watching same movie repetitively again and again. I wished that I could go for some training at trek or hiking or something. My wish is really come true then. I am messaging my friend and ask about climbing at Bukit Tabur then, set!
" Bukit Tabur is a hill located in Taman Melawati, Malaysia. It is also known locally as Bukit Hangus. The hill is very prominent as it is part of Klang Gates Quartz Ridge and can be seen from the Kuala Lumpur Middle Ring Road 2.
The hill, which is less than 1000 metres, is a quartz ridge. Climbers
enter the hiking trail via Kampung Klang Gates, 50 metres from the gates
of the Klang Gates Dam, at the back of Taman Melawati for a 1-3 hour climb. The Gombak Forest Reserve and Klang Gates Dam are beside the hill. The peak offers s view of the dam. The hiking trail to Bukit Tabur can be found at 3°14′1″N 101°44′55″E. "
Tabur previously is an unknown place now become a famous trekking and climbing destination in Kuala Lumpur. Its just like a amazing natural backdrop of Kuala Lumpur which it can be seen along the way (MMR2) to Sri Gombak and Ampang while its take about 20 to 30 minutes from the town here. There are no public transport for you to reach here except taxi, but the most convenience transport is our own car. Almost 16km long and 200 meters wide, the World Longest Crystal Quartz-Ridge runs in a semi circle bordering the eastern edge of Kl city promise you the best climbing diary of the day that I am very sure you will come back for another shot next time. However, the most prominent part of the ridge was lying 5km long at Taman Melawati all along the way to Zoo Negara.
Tabur is divided into two part, East and West Ridge. West ridge is shorter and easier than the east ridge. Mostly people will trekking up to west ridge peak at the left of Klang Gates entrance during the weekends while little go to east. Some people called east ridge as Tabur Extreme because we have to climb up till 90 degree and ascend up and descend down few small hill of hard stone made of quartz crystal. Bukit Tabur is surrounded by a lush nature and Klang Gates reservoir at one side and developed town at the other one. How amazing! We called it "Dua Alam" and the view is so perfectly different. Crazy!.
Here is some pictures taken at Tabur East.
